The idea
Between my first and second years at Edinburgh, I placed a small ad on Radio HP — the kind of thing people in our world have always used to find trusted help. I was looking for a summer nannying job. Within days, I had over twenty-five responses from families. Not a handful. Twenty-five.
I wished I could have said yes to all of them. I desperately wanted to be in twenty-five places at once — because I could see exactly what each family needed, and I knew the right people existed. But I'm only one person, and I could only do so much.
What struck me wasn't the demand. It was how hard these families had found it to find someone they actually trusted. Not just a safe pair of hands — someone brilliant, warm and genuinely good for their children. That person existed. They just had no way of finding each other.
That felt like a problem worth solving. Mollie & Co. is what I built to solve it.
About Mollie
I grew up between England and America — half British, half American, and thoroughly at home in both. I went to Pinewood School and Wellington College before heading to Edinburgh University, and I've spent most of my life around the kinds of families and children this company is built for.
I know from experience that what families actually want isn't just someone to keep the children safe — it's someone brilliant, warm and trustworthy who will genuinely be good for them. The kind of person you'd happily have at your kitchen table. That's the standard every Mollie & Co. placement is held to.
I review every application and every family enquiry personally. This will always be a network built on real relationships, not an algorithm.
The ethos
Every person on our network is known to us, not just vetted by us.
Placements are matched by Mollie, not a form or a filter.
One fee. No commission. No ongoing platform to manage.
Whether you're a family looking for the perfect companion or a brilliant young person looking for the best summer job — we'd love to hear from you.
For families
We know how hard it is to find someone you genuinely trust with your children. Mollie & Co. exists to make that easier — by doing the searching, vetting and matching for you.
Fill in our short enquiry form with your children's ages, the dates you need cover, where you're based and what kind of support you're looking for.
Mollie reviews your enquiry personally and suggests the right person from the network — based on your family's personality, location and what your children will love.
We make the introduction. If it's the right fit, we handle the placement and you pay the one-off fee. The relationship is yours from there.
Every placement is bespoke, but here's what families typically ask for:
School holiday nannying — full or part days
Activity companions — sports, arts, outdoors, culture
Travel nanny — ski trips, European holidays, summer abroad
Sibling support — keeping all ages happy together
Longer-term companionship — a regular, consistent presence
Every kind of holiday is different. Tell us where you're going and we'll match you with a companion who genuinely thrives there — whether that means someone who skis brilliantly, holds a boat licence, or knows every trail in the Alps.
Companions who ski to a high standard — confident on-piste and off-piste, and brilliant with children of all abilities. Some hold ski instructor qualifications.
Companions with boat licences or RYA qualifications — experienced on the water and completely at ease, from lake sailing to open-sea cruising.
Strong swimmers with experience in surfing, paddleboarding, kayaking or open water — ideal for active families spending time by the coast.
Companions who love hiking, cycling, climbing and wide-open spaces — energetic, capable and perfect for families who want a real adventure.
Just tell us what kind of holiday you're planning in your enquiry — we'll find the right person.

If you're warm, energetic and brilliant with children — and you're looking for something more meaningful than bar work — Mollie & Co. might be exactly what you're looking for.
