The idea

It started with one advert and twenty-five families.

Between my first and second years at Edinburgh, I placed a small ad on Radio HP. I was looking for a summer nannying job. Within days, I had over twenty-five responses from families. Not a handful. Twenty-five.

If I could have fit twenty-five different families into one summer I would have — but unfortunately that's impossible. What I did have, though, was twenty-five brilliant people in mind who could help those families. The issue was not that the right people didn't exist — there was simply no proper way to find them.

That felt like a problem worth solving. Mollie & Co. is what I built to solve it.

About Mollie

The person behind the placements.

I grew up between England and America — half British, half American, and thoroughly at home in both. I went to Pinewood School and Wellington College before heading to Edinburgh University, and I've spent most of my life around the kinds of families and children this company is built for.

I know from experience that what families actually want isn't just someone to keep the children safe — it's someone brilliant, warm and trustworthy who will genuinely be good for them. The kind of person you'd happily have at your kitchen table. That's the standard every Mollie & Co. placement is held to.

I review every application and every family enquiry personally. This will always be a network built on real relationships, not an algorithm.

Most of our families come to us through recommendation — a friend, a school connection, someone who's already worked with us. If you've found your way here, you're probably already part of the right circle. We do the searching, vetting and matching so you don't have to.

How it works

What our mentors offer

Every placement is bespoke, but here's what families typically ask for:

School holiday nannying — full or part days

Activity mentors — sports, arts, outdoors, culture

Travel nanny — ski trips, European holidays, summer abroad

Sibling support — keeping all ages happy together

Longer-term mentorship — a regular, consistent presence

What every mentor holds

Every person is personally known to Mollie & Co. before joining the network.

If you're reading this, you probably already know someone who knows us. Mollie & Co. is a closed network — our mentors join through personal introduction, not open applications. If someone pointed you here, you're in the right place.

Who joins our network

We're not looking for a CV. We're looking for people who are genuinely wonderful with children — patient, fun, reliable and the kind of person a family would trust from the first meeting.

Our mentors come through our own circle. Most are at university or recently graduated, and all are 19 or over. We welcome nannies, mannies and mentors equally — what matters is the person, not the label.
